Amanda Dismukes

I have B.A. in Social Work, from Meredith College and an M.Ed in Counseling from North Carolina State University. I was a middle school counselor for 2.5 years before I began my wellness career 8 years ago as the Wellness Director of the Cary Family YMCA. Teaching classes is my passion. I try to make my classes fun and entertaining but also challenging. I want everyone to feel successful so I am always giving modifications and words of encouragement. I give so much to my classes and prepare ahead for them to make sure that our members have a great experience. I can't imagine not teaching, it is such a huge part of me. Helping people on their wellness journey is such a great feeling and knowing that I was able to make someone smile or empower someone to try something new or challenge someone to push their fitness limits is beyond words. I look forward to sharing my passion of wellness to others.
