Annette Padilla

I began teaching group fitness in 1984 by chance, and after attendeding my first professional conference, Reebok Resolution, I fell in love! I have been personal training, certified through NASM, and will be completing my Integrated Flexibility Specialist credential in early spring. My career has included teaching weightlifting, BOSU, core board, yoga/pilates, cardio kickboxing, step, hi-low, core strengthening with the variety of bands, tubing, resistance, gliders, medicine/stability balls, and just finished a master class to include these modalities, titled "Annual Turkey Day Body Blast." I have worked with many different populations and levels of fitness, and lifestyle coaching has given me yet another invaluable tool for the people. My next goal is to complete my Registered Dietician's masters, along with either an exercise physiology or kinesiology masters. I love working with children and passing everything that I have gleaned from the many mentors that have influenced my learning. I work mainly for a non-profit organization, and this keeps things "real." There, at the Brea Community Center in Brea, CA, we know the names of our members, we know their children and watch them grow, and there, our true talents are nurtured, and we are given the freedom to apply what we have been taught, and the encouragement to continue. I love it! My long term goals are to continue the learning and share my experience/s with those who are willing, and eventually open my own place of fitness, and provide consulting for healthy lifestyles to include training, nutrition and coaching. Thank you!! :)
