Chavonna discovered the healing potential of Yoga in 2005 and has been practicing ever since. As a high school teacher in New York City, she spent her days taking care of others and needed a way to take care of herself spiritually and physically. Yoga enabled her to breathe, regain her calm, and find stillness in the midst of a hectic lifestyle. Upon moving back home to Pittsburgh, it was a challenge finding a Yoga studio that fit her needs. When Dom opened the studio in Shadyside, Chavonna knew she had found a home! Through a series of serendipitous events, the universe opened up and in January 2012 she was able to take part in the Teacher Training Program, a goal of hers for a few years. Chavonna “let go” of her full-time education career creating space for a new one as a Yoga Teacher. “I want to bring calm, compassion, and an overall sense of well-being to those who choose to practice Yoga.” Chavonna takes part in various Yoga workshops in an effort to deepen her own practice and further her knowledge of Yoga.
