I have a Bachelor's of Social Work from North Georgia College. My professional career was working with special needs groups (older adults, people with mental or physical disabilities) in the therapeutic recreation department of DeKalb County Parks and Recreation Department. As aquatics was always my favorite therapy, I taught water exercise, synchronized swimming, and other water related activities as a part of my job. After I retired from the county, I continued to coach synchro at Agnes Scott College while teaching water aerobics for Dynamos Community swim center in Atlanta, and later for LA Fitness Centers and the YMCA. I started a home business iin 1999, but retired and relocated in 2012 to St. Simon's Island, GA. Currently, I volunteer at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center (which is my passion), as well as the Red Cross Disaster Activity Team, and teach water exercise for the county pool as well as a private gym on the island, St. Simon's Health and Fitness Centers. I just celebrated my 60th birthday and am enjoying island life tremendously. My schedule is very flexible so I am available to explore new experiences and places at my leisure.
