Steve Godiksen

Steve is a PTR-certified teaching professional with over forty years of competitive, recreational  and  teaching experience. He competed on the satellite tour as a young man, winning a European championship at age 18. Additionally, he was ranked as part of a #1 doubles team in New England for many years and has won a multitude of championship titles in tournament play throughout New England. He has taught in Florida,  Cape Cod  and for the past thirty years in Guilford , CT. He is currently the Assistant Head Tennis Pro at Guilford Racquet and Swim Club and the Head Pro at Sachem’s Head Yacht & Tennis Club.

Steve is an athletic, charismatic and motivating instructor. His style emphasizes strategy, technique and fun. Steve’s clients return year after year to his clinics because his style is so popular and effective. Many of Steve’s  junior clients have gone on to play college level D1 tennis and multiple USTA teams, under Steve’s guidance, have been district and sectional champions as well as finalists at the national level. Steve also coached current WTA top 10 ranked player Emma Navarro.

Steve tailors his instruction to individual needs and ability levels. He is a master at his profession and makes each person feel valued and successful. So, if you are a seasoned player or have never picked up a racquet, Steve is the pro to see. You will wonder why you waited so long!
