A New York City native, Ms. Tonge-Mason began her dance training in New York City with Marie Brooks, Dance Theater of Harlem, Chuck Davis African Dance Company, Tanawa Congolese Dance Company, and International African-American Ballet Company. As a teenager in Teaneck, New Jersey she continued her love for dance as modern dancer in the Teaneck Terpsicoreans from 1982-1985. The Terspsicoreans, presented at numerous teacher conventions, colleges, universities, Hip Hop videos, and clubs around the Tri-State area. As a transfer student to Howard University, Tiyika auditioned for the Dance Ensemble
and enjoyed working with such talents like Princess Mhoon Cooper until graduation in 1991. Thereafter, worked as a video host for Dance Traxxs USA, Board Operator for Radio One (Cathy Hughes, Bernie McCain, and Moonman Shows). Returned to dance after raising her three children. Currently, a Zumba, Zumbatomic, Zumba Toning, and Dance Instructor.
