- Ellena Wong
Ellena Wong has been training in and instructing Pilates since 2009.
With a career in the aerospace engineering industry and a Bachelors of Science in
Mechanical Engineering, she has a unique perspective on movement and the human
body “vehicle”. It was while on her own fitness journey that she fell in love with Pilates
ability to balance, strengthen, and enhance quality of life, resulting in a quest for
knowledge – for herself, and to share.
She earned her first teacher certification at the Pilates Institute of Southern California, at
the conclusion of their year-long teacher training program. Shortly thereafter she
received her Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) certification. Her second certification is with
Polestar Pilates and is presently a mentor for the Polestar Teacher Training at Studio
Pilates, El Segundo.
Always a fitness enthusiast, Ellena’s background includes yoga, aerobics, body
sculpting, bodybuilding, spinning and more, all of which inform her perspective on
Pilates. Her teaching experience includes gyms (ex. Equinox Fitness, South Bay) and
chiropractor offices (ex. The Back Center, Redondo Beach). Her well-rounded
perspective on health and fitness enables her to connect with students from all walks of
life.
The constant in Ellena’s teaching is her desire to empower her students with the skills
and knowledge to accelerate their own journeys to improved fitness and wellbeing – and
have fun doing it.
