I started playing tennis at the age of 3 in Kailua-Kona, HI where I grew up. My dad was a teaching professional at the Ritz and he got me into the game. I began playing tennis tournaments at the age of 7 and became ranked 1 in the state in the 12 and under age division and then the 14 and under age division. When I was 13 years old, ranked number 1 in the state in the 14's my mom and I made the decision to move to Texas so I could attend a renown tennis academy and recieve the competition and training I could not find in the state of Hawaii. That tennis academy was the John Newcombe Tennis Academy. There I trained 5 hours a day, 6 days a week and homeschooled because I traveled so frequently for tournaments. I was taught by some of the most prestigous coaches in the US. Ryan Harrison, a young American ranked in the top 50 on the mens tour is one of my best friends and his dad coaches me for a while. I have been immersed by a variety of teaching techniques and as a succesful player, knows what it takes to give proper instruction.
