I started my fitness journey at age 11, expressing interest in everything exercise related. During my sophmore year of college I started teaching Group Exercise classes, and I knew I had found my calling! I taught 30+ different types of class formats (from boot camp to aqua to pilates), 5-8 classes per week, for the two remaining years of my time at JMU.
After graduating I was hired by Lifetime Fitness in Loudoun County to teach Group Fitness, where I taught and subbed anywhere from 4-6 classes per week, 20+ participants. The following year I began the job as a full time personal trainer. For the past 4 years I've been training one on one, partners, small groups (no more than 6 participants-strength and circuits), and large group personal training classes ( 6-20 participants-circuit strength and boot camp formats).
From 2012 to 2013 I managed the Group Training Program at Lifetime Fitness. Our Group Training classes included weight loss classes (cardio based), fitness classes (strength based), and boot camp classes (combo cardio/strength). As the Group Training Coordinator I oversaw the classes and hired the instructors, kept a budget of 9K+ per month, taught 2 classes with a consistant 15+ participants, conducted demo classes, and recruited new members in order to meet/exceed revenue goals. In 2013 I stepped back from that position in order to start my own personal training business, which I am in the process of launching. I don't have a website, but will soon! I will be offering one on one, partner, small group, and boot camps, as well as pilates sessions, both mat and reformer. This year I also received my Peak Pilates Level I certification, although I have been teaching pilates since 2008.
My true love will always be teaching groups, however, I enjoy it all!
