Alexandra Goode
is a New York native who moved to California in 2008. She received her BFA in 2007 from Tufts University in partnership with the school of the Museum of Fine Arts and completed her Yoga Teacher Training in 2012 under the guidance of Nona Chiang and Lainie Devina at YogaWorks. Alex now teaches yoga, art, architecture and dance to adults and children in the Los Angeles area. She is also a practicing artist.
It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge. A teacher to her core, Alex guides both new and seasoned Yogi’s to their edge, encouraging physical growth and endurance that matches the students’ mindfulness of alignment and strength. Alex’s practice is a blend of Ashtanga and Iyengar principles with a well-developed sequence; opening poses are a starting block built upon throughout the practice. No matter what level or age the student, Alex’s classes leave the practitioner feeling renewed, energized and open.
Alex first sought out Yoga in college as a supplement to her dancing- a way to simultaneously heal and strengthen her body. As her practice grew deeper, she became more focused, patient and self-aware. With an insatiable curiosity for all things, Alex continues to explore the limitless world of yoga, always eager to try new styles. Being an ever-diligent student helps to constantly mold and inform her personal teaching style.
