Debra Ockrim

I graduated with a B.S. in Fashion Merchandising with a marketing emphasis. I worked as a buyer for Marshall Fields immediately upon graduating. I went on to work as a Fashion Coordinator for Olga Lingerie. During that time, I traveled the U.S. teaching how to sell Olga's products to salespeople and management at a variety of large department stores. I presented and organized fashion shows and seminars to a variety of Olga's customers. It was then my husband and I started our family. During that time, I started playing competitive tennis and working out. As I got more and more injuries from tennis, fitness became my passion and savior. Without strength, range of motion, flexibility, etc.., my tennis days would have ended. I continued playing tennis until I decided to become certified as a personal trainer. Through the years, I added other certifications to my original NCSF certification adding to my customer base and knowledge. The MES certification gave me the skills to acclimate people from physical therapy to the general fitness floor. I believe my prior experience has made me more successful as a trainer. Marketing, sales, and working with a vast array of people for most of my life has given me the skills I need to connect with people, gain their trust, and become long term clients. I am passionate about my job and especially when a new client understands the benefits and makes exercise their way of life too.
