I grew up in Santa Monica, CA, and have always been very much involved with physical fitness.

Growing up, I was always involved in some sort of dance class, and also played soccer from third grade through college, and continued into adulthood.

I started practicing yoga after graduation college, when there was no gym within walking distance of my apartment, but there was a yoga studio.  My first class was extremely challenging, but I could tell that it was good for me, and started attending class regularly twice per week.

After one year or practice, I decided to attend my first teacher training, as I wanted to share this gift of yoga with others, and as I had taught before many other subjects such as tutoring, German, and activities as a camp counselor.

My yoga teacher traininer Ana Forrest thought I exceled in the teacher training course, and hired me on upon graduation to teach at her studio.

I continued to teach there until I took my practice a step deeper, moving into a yoga ashram center in New Zealand, and teaching there as a resident teacher for six months.

Upon return to the United States, I expanded my career into teaching children academic subjects as an elementary school, but continued teaching yoga on the side.  Eventually, my path led me to work at a mental health center, where I taught a weekly yoga class to help clients deal with depression, anxiety, and stress.  I enjoyed this work so much that I expanded it to other mental health centers in the area, teaching at some for pay, and others as a volunteer.

I then decided to follow a dream and earn my Ayurvedic holistic health educator certificate to compliment my yoga teaching.  After graduating from that program, I started teaching more yoga, at a preschool, upper school, at local YMCA's and for private students.  At this time, I realized I needed to take my teaching to the next level, so took an excellent 300 hour training, which greatly helped my teaching of flow classes, my anatomical knowledge, and general teaching skills.  This training greatly increased my confidence and skill in teaching, and my students noticed the improvement as well.

For my own peace of mind and back up career plan, I am currently earning my elementary school teaching credential, but deeply I want to continue along the path of yoga teaching as much as possible, knowing that whatever I learn about educating children, I can also apply to educating people in the practice of yoga.

As working in schools affords me plenty of vacation time, I would love to teach at a resort during some of my breaks.
