As a classically trained ballerina, I have always had a love of movement and dance. Particularly after having children, my body had a "need" to move and get back into shape.  I initially gravitated to yoga as the poses and stretches resonated with me and my background.  As Zumba gained popularity, I became interested first as a student.  Being an Arizona native and from the Latino culture, I loved the music and of course the dancing.  It was definitely "exercise in disguise."  It wasn't long before I was asked to train to become a Zumba instructor.  I was trained by my home group fitness studio to be a general group fitness instructor.  They gave me the knowledge to teach not only Zumba, but a traditional Hi/Lo Aerobic class and strength training type classes.  During this time, I feel back into teaching yoga as well and attended Level 1 of YogaFit training.  My yoga classes are a mix of the Anusara flow with the more fitness approach of Yogafit.  Also, I've taught Zumba Kids periodically which touches on the ballet classes I taught more than 6 years ago.  More recently, I've become licensed to teach Zumba Toning and Aqua Zumba as well as the Bender Barre Method.  

My approach to group fitness is to keep the classes "fun and fresh." I love what I do and love to share my passions with others.
