- Sarah Antrim
My name is Sarah Antrim, I have been teaching yoga for 3 years and practicing for 10. From the time I was a little girl, I always knew I was meant to be a healer. I took in injured birds, squirrels, kittens, and nursed them back to health. I knew I was meant to heal I just didn’t know how. After finding dead ends on the paths of veterinary science, nursing, and even coaching children’s sports; I thought that maybe I’d never find my way. What I was forgetting was that in order to be a healer, I had to first heal myself.
Life has presented me with plenty of obstacles—from scoliosis and flat feet, to an accident resulting in torn muscles and 21 stitches on the hip and 2 pregnancies in less than 2 years—but practicing yoga and staying present has always brought me back on track.
I found my way into the teaching world after I was tired of sitting around trying to work toward someone else’s dream. After that, I decided that my “occasional practice” needed a kick in the rear. I didn’t like where by body was at, where my mind was at, or the way I was acting. I needed to change. I started practicing yoga every single day, and have continued ever since. Once I got my mind in the right place, everything else started to fall in line. My anxiety had subdued, my family was happier, and I found a great new studio that welcomed me to their teaching staff with open arms! I am stronger now than I have ever been, both physically and mentally. I take great pride in being a leader in my yoga community and want to suggest only the best for my students & friends!
I feel as though I have reached a point in my life where yoga is no longer a "practice" and has become a way of life.
• Currently I teach 6 classes per week including Vinyasa Flow, Gentle Yoga and Candlelight Yoga. Next month I will be adding 2 Warm Yin Yoga classes to my schedule as well.
• I also host a weekly gathering of friends, neighbors and family in my backyard for a yoga class on Saturday mornings. I call it “Grass Yoga” because we ditch the mats for the day and practice in the grass!
