Michael Mooren

I was born and raised just outside the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. My father was, and still is part-time, a sports editor for a local newspaper and he instilled a passion of sports in me. I grew up playing any sport I could, but always gravitated toward tennis throughout my life. I started playing tennis when I was six years old. After a childhood of tennis memories, I attended Brookfield East High School and played tennis all four years earning a spot at the state tennis tournament every year. Then I attended the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse where I played tennis four years while studying education; the final two years I earned the number one singles spot.

After finishing my degree at the UW-LaCrosse, I moved back to the Milwaukee area and gained employment at Greenfield High School and Elite Sports Club-West Brookfield, while continuing my summer position as tennis director for the City of Brookfield. During this time, I met my wife, Christina, and we married in 2010. Over the past five years, I have thoroughly enjoyed being a devoted husband, dedicated teacher, and motivated tennis coach.

As you may be able to tell tennis has always been, and will always be, an integral part of my life.  It is my honest view that tennis is a lifetime sport that can be enjoyed by anyone, at any time, in any climate.  Furthermore, I am a firm believer in continuous movement during tennis instruction and want to see as little standing as possible.  With my teaching background, I enjoy finding ways to accommodate all learners and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of each individual. Overall, I have had a lifetime, of tennis playing experiences and 15 years of coaching experience that I look forward to sharing with whomever I can.
