Eugene M. Hamilton LMT known to friends and longtime clients as Gene started his journey as a massage therapist at the age of 19. Although you could say it started at the age of 13 after receiving a reflexology book from his mother. After his freshman year' at Hofstra University he met a family friend on the Board of Directors of the Swedish Institute of massage and allied health sciences she inspired him to pursue a career as a massage therapist. After his first trimester at the Swedish Institute he received his apprenticeship papers and began working at Gurneys Inn and spa in Montauk. While studying at the Swedish Institute he learned Swedish, shiatsu and medical massage as well as learning the rudiments of tai chi. Being a native of East end born in South Hampton and raised in Quiogue he was drawn always from the city and back to the beach she loves. Living in Montauk Amagansett in East Hampton he spent the first five years of his massage career working at the spa and cultivating a private practice. Through the second half of the 80s he found himself working the Hamptons in the summer and weekends and Manhattan and Westchester in the winter as business was very seasonal back in the 80s. In 1989 he moved to Los Angeles California where he had an amazingly successful five years working at sports club LA with Keshava of a massage and massage masters therapy center he also worked as a personal trainer in the Pacific Palisades. Living in Beverly Hills he grew a wide range of private clients from well-known Celebrities to Athletes and people across the spectrum. After the Northridge earthquake he returned back to Long Island in 1994 where he found many of his old clients eagerly awaiting his return. At this time he began to expand into other modalities and venues such as Southhampton Hospital sports rehab center, where he had the opportunity to use his medical massage training. He also studied deep tissue, sports massage, Thai massage and hot stone therapy. His practice and interest have also led him into the world of healing using the chakras and human energy field with Reiki and healing touch. He has found that the combination of physical manipulation and energetic manipulation has become the best formula for aiding his clients on their healing journey.
