Although I completed my ACE Personal Training Certification less than a year ago, I have been into fitness all my life. I am a member of IDEA and ECA and have attended weekend workshops over the last few years, including those sponsored by Club Industry East. I was certified as a group fitness instructor in 2000 through AFAA but was unable to pursue teaching at the time due to other job responsibilities. As mentioned above, I just completed training as a group fitness instructor for the Silver Sneakers program, a fitness program for seniors, 65 and older, which is sponsored by Horizon Blue Cross & Blue Shield and Oxford insurance companies.
