- Maria discovered a passion for movement and sport at the age of six, in her father’s Yoga School.
- Her experience as a dancer in the Russian Theater of Modern Dance guided her toward a career in the world of fitness.
- Maria holds an “Attestation d’études collegiales” in physical fitness and training, and a Pilates Method Alliance certificate in Pilates mat and apparatus.
- She has worked with musicians in the Tel-Aviv Symphony Orchestra and with disabled veterans to rehabilitate them after they sustained occupational injuries.
- She also holds a special PMA certification in Pathology and Contraindication enabling her to work with different levels of fitness.
- Maria has an ability knowledge and experience to work with all Pilates Apparatus using the techniques of classic and modern Pilates Schools.
- In 2007 Maria became a personal assistant of Stott Pilates Master Trainer Stephan Andre which gave her a solid base and boosted her Pilates career.
- Maria believes that Pilates heals shoulders, back, knees, improves posture and most of all, quality of life.
- In September 2011, Maria took part in an advertising campaign and was chosen to represent the Pilates departments of all Midtown Clubs in America and Canada. Her image appears on street billboards, giant posters, buses, postcards and in high level publications all over Chicago.
- Maria is renowned for her detail work and intense dynamic style of which her very popular ‘Jump Board’ classes are the best example.
- In August 2012, Maria started to work as a Pilates Trainer at the International Head Quarters at Cirque du Soleil, based in Montreal. Her responsibilities included developing Pilates programs for artists in Formation and artists who have been repatriated for significant injuries and documenting all sessions into Cirque’s Medicirque platform. Maria also had a special task to give an advanced high intense sport specific Pilates Mat classes to an acrobats in a Formation General. Creation of programs was in collaboration with Cirque Performance Medicine Team and Coaches. Maria shared work with the other members of the Pilates Team, as well as the Physiotherapists and Athletic Therapists.
