James Foulk

I have been coaching sports in the uk for over 20 years now. My early experience in tennis coaching has seen me coach and tennis players up to county level, with some of these players in later years becoming national level standard players. I have also been a Derbyshire County Tennis Coach and helped train and support the progress of the counties best under 12 and under 14 players.

My strengths and bulk of my experience has been planning and implementing opportunities in a development rather than 'performance' capacity, enabling people of all ages to particpate in events and coaching schemes at the introductory and grass roots level. This has meant effectively forging club-school links and working in partnership with a range of key players, including national governing bodies, local authorities, senior club coaches, mentors, private clubs and school staff. I've also sat on club committees and been a key team player in generating funding for clubs and myself to enable young people and adults to have free or subsidised tennis, racketball and squash lessons. My influence at this stage has enhanced their interest to a point that they have continued to play in internal club leagues and represent different clubs. I also enjoy refereeing duty of tennis competition from time to time, and tutoring of ages 13 and above to obtain the 1st tennis coaching qualification, which is the LTA Tennis Leaders Course.
