Mary Beth Volker

    I spent the first 27 years of my life as an artist, painting, making video and later moving onto music and dance before starting to teach yoga. I had taught dance to both children and adults so I was comfortable explaining moevemtn, but after a spiritual experience in Croatia on a long distance bicycle journey i decided to go deeper into my yoga practise, and a couple of months after that I walked into my guru's studio in Mexico. the student was ready, so the teacher appeared! I had studied Ashtange and Hatha yoga casually before diving into Vinyasa. My background in music and dance and sports of all kinds has lead me to create athletic, philosophical and choreographic classes. I can cater to all levels of students.

    I was born in California but have lived the past eight years abroad, in Montreal, Canada, Berlin, Germany and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, mostly. But I also released a record in 2010 and followed it with a world tour.
