My formal dance training started at the Bernice Johnson dance school and continued with the Repertory Dance Company of East Harlem in NYC. I continued dancing and cheerleading through college all the way to semi- professional basketball league cheerleader with the Baltimore Bay Runners in 2001. Life happened in a major way and I packed on an extra 60+ pounds. Then in 2011 I embarked on a journey to reclaim my health, my fitness and revive my passion for dancing. I joined a gym, committed to healthy living and shed 52 lbs in the process. August 2012 completed my Zumba Fitness Instructor certification and since then I have used it as a vehicle to help other on their health & wellness journey as well as to give back to the community.
Walking into my Zumba class is like getting a boarding pass to take a round the globe trip through dance fitness and music. My specialties are Reggae/Dane Hall, Soca/Calypso, Samba, Salsa, Bhangara & Belly dancing.
In addition to teaching Zumba I enjoy taking people on a cultural journey to 4 countries and their carnivals through dance and music through my Carnival Dance Fitness Workshops. I've taught these workshops and master classes in New York, Las Vegas, Baton Rouge, Ethiopia & Jamaica.
An avid world traveler, I have lived, worked, volunteered and traveled to over 22 countries.
