A Nova Scotia Native, I’ve longed to embrace tropical waters and jungles for as long as I can recall. It was this urge that prompted me to become a professional recreational scuba diver, despite there being no industry for diving in my area. The diving was intended for my life in the tropics, and was to take me there, though that wasn’t the case. I entered a committed relationship, hung up my fins, studied and worked in the field of Human Services for a decade, and settled for what was normal and predictable.  Personal crisis, conflict in my relationships, and emotional strain associated with my profession eventually led me to quit my job and try something completely different. I packed up my Tracker and headed west for the mountains, on a personal quest. Along with much insight, what I got out of that journey was yoga; I started practicing when I got out west. That was it, what I was yearning for, a deeper connection with and expression of self. I soon took a 200 hour YTT and have been teaching and reclaiming a fuller expression of Self ever since, when I’m not busy parenting my beautiful boy, Carlin. And, yet here I am again, longing for the tropics…
