Teri has had an interesting journey that brought her to Outpost Training Company. Teri has always been active in athletic sports but it wasn’t until after a long walk on the Appalachian Trail that Teri truly because interested in human movement.
In 2010, shortly after moving to Georgia, Teri started the 2170-mile hike from Georgia to Maine on the Appalachian Trail. It was during this hike, which for her lasted 548 miles, that Teri’s passion for human moment and nutrition was born. The direct correlation of food intake to energy output is what ended Teri’s hike short of her goal; poor fueling choices combined with heavy loads and long days ultimately lead to a knee injury.
Teri has since studied holistic nutrition with the American College of Healthcare Science, become a CrossFit Level 1 and 2 certified trainer. A CrossFit Weightlifting and CrossFit Kids certified trainer, a Yogafit level 1 trainer, a TRX Team Coach and a NASM Certified Personal Trainer.
Teri is currently studying yoga with Isabelle Casey to achieve her 200-hour certification through the Yoga Alliance. Teri’s passion for yoga is fueled by the journey of self-discovery and constant growth! In Teri’s words, “what we practice on the yoga mat will translate to everything we do off the yoga mat!”
