My name is William Simpson. I am newly engaged, and in graduate school at The Citadel in Charleston South Carolina. I also work there as the Assistant Tennis Coach under NCAA Tennis Hall of Fame coach Chuck Kriese. But this is no way the beginning of my tennis career. Having a father as a tennis pro has kept me around the game since diapers. Ranked top 10 (18's) in South Carolina a junior, I trained under Stan Smith and Billy Stearns down in hilton head. After high school, I transformed into a college athlete playing at both Erskine College and then Coker College, where I led the team (as team captin) to our best finnish in the conference tournament. Over the summers I was asked to return to Smith&Stearns to be a coach as well as a traveling coach. There my reputation grew enough to have people outside of the academy ask me to be their traveling coach. I traveled with Nicky Koonz (Sweedish National Team, Top nationally ranked junior) to many of the nation's top tournaments. After my college career ended, I began to work for Coker's tennis coach as his assistant for the men's and women's teams. There the men's team went undefeated and won the regular season conference championship. I also worked under Gary Agardy at Greenwood Country Club as the assistant tennis pro, head tennis pro, then director of junior development.
