Through my first yoga class five years ago I was amazed at how much balance and ease that one class brought to my life. I discovered a practice that left me feeling grounded, confident and better able to deal with stressors. I am so happy that through teaching and practicing to have found my bliss with yoga and am excited to share it with the world. I am not only a Yoga teacher but also an inspiring mentor. I believe in opening the mind and heart to a new way of thinking about your body and tapping into your souls potential. Yoga is about uniting the body mind and spirit. I have a dedicated and profound passion and commitment to teach others sprung from my own personal experiences. I have found the outlet to ignite my inner fire and I want to help others ignite theirs! I approach my classes with joyful energy, humour, a skilled touch, compassionate heart, steady pace, balanced sequencing and attention to detail – encouraging my students to move slowly, deeply and mindfully.
I have studied Child and Youth Care at the university of Ryerson in Tororonto as well as currently volunteer for the Associated Youth Services of Peel within Mississauga and Brampton in which we help children and youth within the community. My passion lies within yoga, I believe by hoping to inspire and support individuals by tapping into their inner strengths and abilities we will be able to cultivate seeds for peace within our lives. I believe yoga can be a powerful contributor to social change and that by providing us to use our own strength and resilience within ourselves and provide an opportunity to empower ourselves to make right choices around our well being, even if it begins with that simple moment on our mats.
My message is simple; I encourage getting out of your comfort zone and to just breathe. It is easy to focus purely on what comes easy to us and what we are good at. Things are difficult for a reason and we hold the most tension in the parts of the body we don’t usually focus on because we shy away from pain. Know what pain is and acknowledge it is here and needs to be here; it is how we move forward. Through my personal journey I believe the words of Buddha resonate best “Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future. Concentrate the mind in the present moment”
I am eager to travel the world and share my love of yoga with everyone around me. I wish to inspire, motivate and be one with everyone who shares the same love and excitement towards yoga as I do. I am ready to take on the next chapter in my life which is to travel and uncover the world.
