Breanne Roche

I am currently a pediatric nurse and I specialize in oncology. I just graduated with my master's in nursing and will be taking my pediatric nurse practitioner boards in the near future. I am starting my doctorate in nursing this year and will be doing the program part-time. I have a passion for health and fitness. I grew up in an active and healthy household always participating in sports. My mother was my role model--she was a health and physical education teacher and passed away from leukemia when I was 13. I always admired her strength, optimism and passion for living a healthy and well-rounded life, and I want to continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle in my life.

I minored in fitness in college and currently hold a Health Fitness Specialist Certification through ACSM. I currently train clients through personal training at Total Customized Fitness, as well as teach some group fitness classes. Every few months we hold a corporate fit challenge: a 6-week challenge focusing on exercise and nutrition, while creating and maintaining healthy lifestyle behaviors. I have really enjoyed being a "coach" for the challenges. I also coach freshman cheerleading at a local high school. Creating healthy behaviors starts young--and that is why it is important to instill these behaviors in children!
