Stephane Ippersiel

Yoga entered my life at a point of personal turmoil.  What I found in yoga is a means to clear my mind, to look inward and to focus on the essence of who I am.  Sometimes I'm not too thrilled with what that yogic mirror shows me, but my practice ptrovides me with clues to improve myself: what to work on, what to weed out.  Today I feel so much better and more genuine than I did when I first set foot in a yoga studio.  If you had told me a few years ago that I’d be doing yoga, I would have laughed at the idea.  Now I can’t imagine my life without it.

I started practicing yoga in spring 2006, as something to do with friends after the snowboarding season ended. What started out as a social activity evolved into a deep and meaningful part of my life. Today, yoga and self-discovery help in all aspects of my life, whether in relationships, at work or at play.

My asana practice is balanced between the Yang styles (Power, Hot, Ashtanga) and Yin yoga. To me, a yoga teacher is really just an avid student who passes on what he or she loves.

I am a former sergeant in the Canadian Army Reserves and have had a 30-year career in government communications.  I currently teach 4 scheduled yoga classes a week.
