Profile

Virginia began her love relationship with Yoga after an automobile accident in 1998. Prior to that time, she was a Personal Trainer and Certified Aerobics Instructor. Health and Fitness have always been a part of Virginia’s lifestyle.  Once she realized the benefits of a consistent Yoga Practice, she knew that she had to share this experience with others.  Virginia’s teaching style is intuitive and nourishes the hidden strengths of her students while challenging them to reach beyond their perceived limitations.  Her precise hands-on adjustments help students to access and awaken the life force in dormant areas of the body.  You will leave her classes feeling enlivened and renewed.

Specialties

Virginia’s approach is personal and individualized and is influenced by her own experience as a practitioner of various styles of yoga to include: Power Yoga, Hatha, Asthanga, Vinyasa Flow, Iyengar, Bikram/Hot, Gentle, Yin and Restorative Yoga.  Virginia completed her RYT200 at Peachtree Yoga Center and will graduate RYT500 from Peachtree Yoga Center in December 2014.  She has trained with David Swenson, Beryl Bender Birch, Janet Stone and other masterful teachers. She continues to pursue education in yoga and yoga therapy.  This ongoing process of learning is what provides the fresh insights that inspire her teaching.  The sequence and intensity of the class vary in accordance with students’ experience, energy, health concerns, and seasons of the year and even time of day. Virginia teaches classes that are accessible to beginners, while also challenging for intermediate and advanced students – with individual attention paid to each student. Healthy breathing, alignment, balanced energy flow and mindfulness are consistent points of focus in her classes. Focused on body alignment and how the body moves, Virginia teaches engaging, challenging and FUN Yoga classes.
