Experience:

I have taught. umba classes have been taught continuously since December of 2006. I have years of experience in teaching a variety of ages from 5-85. While I enjoy teaching private lessons I feel like working with groups is indeed one of my greatest strengths. I absolutely love the thrill of teaching dance/fitness and get great joy in sharing this love with others.

Part of being a dance teacher also requires feeling comfortable speaking in front of others and I have much experience whether it’s with a small group of participants, or to a large crowd onstage with thousands watching. I’ve also preformed at various entertainment venues for showcases, or charity events. I’m often asked and hired to teach dance or Zumba in schools, charity events, women’s expos, etc.

I’ve competed professionally for several years on the American Smooth and Rhythm Dance Circuit competing in Foxtrot, Tango, Waltz, V. Waltz, as well as Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, and Mambo. I’ve attended competiitions, in Georgia, Las Vegas, Miami as well as regional competitions in the Midwest. Locally I’ve helped train “hometown stars” for Dancing with the Local Stars- Wichita, KS for 4 seasons. The competition to help raise money for charity paired me with a local well-known to prepare them for 6 weeks of dance competition with the winner winning money to the charity of his choice.
