I began running about 12 years ago to lose weight. I found it was exhilarating and within one year I dropped from 230 lbs to 165 lbs. My first race was a half marathon that I completed with very little training. I was quickly hooked and even before I crossed the finish line. What began as something fun grew into much more and I decided to challenge myself and I ran my first marathon. I hired a personal coach 8 years ago, and since then I’ve met many other runners and friends along the way.
I have qualifed and competed in 5 Boston Marathon , the last one being 2013, qualified for the New York Marahton , Chicago and many more in Canada. I have ran 15 marahtons and many more half and shorter road races.
Although I don’t have nutritional certificate, I was chosen as an Ambassador for Vega products, a plant based nutritional line which elite athletes from many sports discipline represent.
As someone who was once overweight, balanced nutrition has been a key component of my lifestyle and diet, which is gluten and dairy free. I also do speaking engagements at local weight loss programs, such as giving a talk about the "Biggest loser on nutrition."
I have a lifetime of sports experience, although running is my pure passion that I love to share with others. I have extensive experience as a running coach (all levels), participant and event organizer. Putting my energy and time into running activities means I get to meet new people, learn about my own possibilities, while helping inspire others to reach their goals. Others would describe me as a leader and people person with a great sense of humour and compassion. Fully bilingual in French and English, I have worked all over North America and have run several marathons and shorter distances. I saw this posting and felt it seemed like an ideal fit for both of us!
I believe the single most important aspect of training is a proper running program from a coach, but you must also put in adequate time to train and recover. Running is an individual sport and the only person who can reach your goals is you. Having enough “time on feet” is a key to success from having a great experience, being properly prepared and remaining injury free.
I’m a firm believer that having great experience will keep you motivated for a lifetime love of ports. Most of us are not running marathons to win but to prove to ourselves that if we put our mind to a challenge, we can do anything! Running marathons has changed my life and will keep on changing lives everywhere
