I have been a dieitian since July of 2007. My interest in food and healthy eating began as a child, which I further pursued in a specialized high school where I received a certificate in culinary arts. My love of working with people and food lead me into the world of nutrition. I received my bachler's in Dietetics from the University of Maryland, College Park and completed my dietetic internship at the University of Maryland Medical Center. I have pursued clinical or hospital nutrition for the past 7 years in order to build up my knowledge and understanding of how nutrition, health and different diseases work together. I have also counseled clients in private practice for 9 years, for everything from weight loss and healthy eating to diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and gastrointestinal disorders. I am a people person, making my clients feel at ease and motivated. My work experience has prepared me to assist with any and every nutritional struggle a person might have. My philosphy is that there is room for everything, yes, every food, in a healthy diet and I pride myself in being to educate and empower my clients to understand and be responsible for their choices, allowing them to be successful, without feeling too restricted or on a "diet."
