Karin Lee was named Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator at Ball State University in July 2007.  Lee comes to Ball State after spending 10 years at The University of Alabama as an assistant athletic director for life skills and community outreach. Among her duties at Ball State, she oversees 9 of the 19 sport programs, directs the human resources area for athletics, supervises Title IX and Gender Equity issues, advises the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, oversees the NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills Program and is in charge of student-athlete welfare issues.

 

As a member of the Crimson Tide staff, Lee was in charge of directing the NCAA Life Skills Program and coordinating community outreach projects for over 400 student-athletes. She was the advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was the liaison with Student Affairs. 

           
Lee has been a member of the NCAA Champs/Life Skills Advisory Team, NCAA Certification Team, NCAA Minority and Opportunities Interest Committee and the NCAA Men’s Tennis Committee.  She is a graduate of the inaugural class of the NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Females and NACWAA/HERS.  Lee is a representative on the Mid-American Conference (MAC) infractions committee, the infractions executive committee and the MAC administrative liaison for men’s tennis. 

           
Lee earned a Ph.D. in 2014 from Capella University, a Master of Arts degree in Sports Administration from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  She has taught fitness classes at a variety of fitness centers since 1997.  She is AFAA and Schwinn Cycling certified.
