I grew up as a competitive figure skater. Once I quit skating to attend college I quickly got out of shape. While studying at Western Michigan University I started taking aerobics classes and was immediately hooked. I started working at a local health club to pay for my college education and continued in a career path involving health and fitness. Once graduating college I managed a health club and ran the group exercise program. I then pursued a position as a fitness director for a fortune 500 company running their corporate fitness and wellness program. During that time I completed my masters degree and decided to start my own fitness consulting business. This allowed me to continue focusing on adult health and fitness programs but also allowed me to branch out and develop sports specific training programs for high school athletes. After a few years with my own consulting business, I sought the stability of corporate jobs and pursued a career in Pharmaceutical Sales. I kept very involved in fitness and continued to teach a variety of fitness classes and work as an Aerobics Director part time in the Detroit-metro area. I currently am employed in Medical/Surgical Device sales and continue to teach fitness classes part time.
