My name is Martina Dessbesell and I am originally from Brazil. For the last 14 years I have been a tennis athlete. I have traveled and played many competitive tournaments including state, national, and some pro circuits. I have more than fifty national titles conquered. The sport of tennis brought me in to the United States when I was invited to play for a College Division I and having a full scholarship. I was able to represent the College very well by being single player undefeated in my last two years of Tennis College. After having pursued my two degrees in the field of sports and nutrition I started working as a Tennis Coach/Instructor. I was very fortunated to have the chance to work for one of the best Tennis Academies in the U.S.A (Saddlebrook Resort and Spa). At Saddlebrook I worked with many professional coaches, gained experience and knowledge, and worked with all players ages (kids, adults, competition atheltes, recreation athletes, elderly). Also, that was in Saddlebrook that I decided to do also Personal Training. While working there, I was invited by them to work with tennis athetes in the field of Strenght and Conditioning at the gym. I have been always a gym person and by the time they invited me to work in the fitness field I could not say no to that. I have learned a lot from the years I spent at the Resort as a Tennis Coach and also a a Trainer (worked for them for two years). After that, my experience and knowledge led me to get hired by one of the Top Gyms in the United States named Equinox. Since then (for the last two years), I have been working for Equinox and it has been great . At Equinox (located in Miami) I get to work with many different clients. Every day is a challenge and a lesson learned. I can work pretty much with every kind of client. I have a background in tennis and soccer, but I also like to do circuit training, strength, endurance, cardio, plyometrics, incorporate dynamic warm ups, foam roller, TRX, Vipr, hypertrophy, weight loss, functional training, and power. I do believe that being fit and exercising in a daily basis is more than important to reach a comfortable and satisfied life level. Happines and confidency with also play along witht that. To conclude, my life experience led me to this way along the years, which I could not be more greatful for. I love what I do, and I love helping people reaching their goals in life. A simple gesture like a smile can change everything and make you feel accomplished with your work!
