Jamie Larson

Jamie has always related to life through movement of the body, first as a dancer and now as a yogini and yoga teacher. Practicing yoga for years - through high school, college, and on-going trainings and workshops - she completed her 200-hour Power Vinyasa training in 2006. She has also studied various other disciplines of yoga including Kripalu, Anusara, Bikram and Prana Flow yoga. Most recently, she apprenticed with Megan and David at Your Yoga in the summer of 2013. She expresses gratitude for starting this yoga journey early to her first teacher and inspiration, her mom.

Jamie is also a Psychotherapist and Registered Dietitian working in private practice. She has spent the majority of her career working with individuals struggling with eating disorders and other mental health disorders, at The Emily Program, The Renfrew Center, and in private practice. In 2006, Jamie developed and implemented a yoga curriculum for individuals struggling with eating disorders for both treatment centers. The approach combines traditional yoga techniques and modern psychological treatment.

 When not on her mat Jamie enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, spending time with friends, and playing with her two dogs. Jamie’s creative and playful teaching style is accessible, and challenging to students of all levels. She creates a safe environment to explore sensation and experience, both physically and emotionally.
