Rose is is a friendly, funny and spirited yoga instructor certified in Kripalu and adaptive yoga and is passionate about making yoga accessible and beneficial to each participant.
“It’s never too late to start yoga. I was 44 when I started and living a stressed out life as a working mom and community volunteer. Desperate for an effective, natural way to manage the overwhelming stress that had become my life, I attended my first yoga class. It was love at first breath. Three years later, I earned my teacher certification at The Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, MA and changed careers, eventually opening a yoga studio in rural northwestern PA. Since then, I earned my 500 hour certification at Kripalu and am also a certified Adaptive Yoga and Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga Teacher.” Rose left her studio in 2007 to follow her husband to Grand Rapids MI where she continues to teach group classes, private classes and corporate trainings.
Anyone can do yoga. “I was never an 'exerciser' by any stretch of the imagination. But discovering yoga changed everything. Yoga feels good while you’re doing it and you feel GREAT when you’re finished. How can you beat that? Doing yoga removed all symptoms of arthritis from my hands, knees and back. It gave me skills to relax myself in any given situation. It gave me back my ability to pray (long story) by teaching me to come to stillness. Yoga has been a wonderful tool in deepening my spiritual journey.
It’s always been important to me that my classes allow anyone the safety and space to include – or not include – their own spirituality into their yoga. My teaching style does not include my personal (Christian) spiritual path or any other religious teachings. My passion is helping people discover this amazing tool toward feeling great, inside and out.
