Dana Bender, MS, BA, CWWS, ACSM, RYT, AFAA, ACE
Dana Bender is a fitness and wellness specialist working in the Philadelphia area with a MS in Clinical Health Psychology and Counseling, and a BA in Health Promotion and Fitness Management.
In the past eight years Dana has worked in various health promotion and fitness settings such as worksite wellness centers, community and recreation centers, and private businesses. Also, she has been involved with the National Wellness Institute (NWI) organization the last eight years which has influenced her strong wellness background. Recently, Dana achieved a NWI Certified Work-site Wellness Specialist (CWWS) certification which enhances her knowledge of work-site wellness programming and evaluation. Not only this, but Dana writes as a contributing writer for American Fitness, AFAA's leading publication which demonstates Dana's strong writing ability.
Some of Dana's specialties include: wellness, exercise physiology, yoga and stress management techniques, wellness travel, mindfulness, women's health, event coordination and implementation, CBT counseling, and health psychology.
Dana first got certified to teach group exercise in 2006 by the American Fitness Association of America (AFAA) as a Primary Group Exercise Instructor. Dana is also certified as an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Health Fitness Specialist, an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Personal Trainer, a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), Zumba Basics Instructor, and an intermediate Power Pilates mat instructor. Dana teaches an alignment based yoga class influenced by Anusara principles.
