What began as a search for stress relief led to a 25 year practice and career in yoga. From the moment I stepped on the mat and took my first yoga class, I felt like I'd come home and had a powerful knowing that teaching yoga was what I was supposed to do. I quickly left my PhD program to teach full time.

I completed my yoga teacher certification in Sampoorna Yoga (Sivananda lineage) at Yogi Hari's Ashram in 1999. I went on to practice and teach Ashtanga and power vinyasa yoga after additional teacher trainings with Beryl Birch, David Swenson, Richard Freeman, Shiva Rea and Baron Baptiste. My teaching has also been influenced by the Iyengar, Anusara, Kripalu and Kundalini styles of yoga.

After starting out teaching at the local YMCA, I owned and operated a small town barn yoga studio in Maine for 10 years. There I taught thousands of classes to all ages and abilities.  I've also taught at universities, community centers and schools and continue to teach private clients and at retreats and gatherings of the women's outdoor adventure group, Sister's on the Fly.

My own meditation and spiritual practice led me to become a certified meditation teacher in 2023. I also completed a Spa Yoga teacher certification in 2023 to compliment my current focus on retreat teaching. I am currently building a yoga retreat center in Maine to continue to offer workshops and retreats for women.

My current interests focus on the particular needs of peri and post menopausal women and how yoga, strength training, meditation and a whole foods, plant based diet can help women age with optimal physical and mental health and happiness.
