Laurie Descheneaux

I found my passion to instruct group fitness after my divorce in 2005.  I started with the group fitness certification.  I started off thinking this may not be a profession for me.  This was a difficult time in my life and I had no self confidence and was afraid of public speaking.  Once I decided I was going to commit to this profession my confidence grew.  I took the bull by the horns and decided to overcome my fear!  I began to see how I changed peoples lives.  People were coming to me each week because I motivated them.  I motivated them and that was the turning point of my career.  NO MORE shy Laurie. . I was confident and knowledgeable in this profession.  I connected to members naturaly and I inspired them to work hard physicaly hard and mentally push themselves.  This was now my career path! 

I became well respected in this industry.  Then I was introduced to Les Mills another cross road in my life!  I was scared. . . again.   Memorizing choerography was not easy for me.  I went though the difficult training but now I had confidence.  It took time but I conquered it.  Over time, it became natural and even though can still be a challenge every quarter receiving new material.... it was exciting.  Another obstacle conquered!!

I love my profession!  I love how it changed me as a person.  I love how I help and inspire others continuously.  I push people with the energy I deliver to every class I teach.  No excuses!  I help others reach their goal and share my story how I overcome fear.  I deliver strenght physically and menatally to my classes.  I never forget how I got to were I am today.  Always willing to learn new safe moves to share with my members.  Saftey always first and retaining a professional standards in this industry has helped me grow.  Respect to others and commitment has always been a strenght for me.  Never allowing myself to get to big for my britches one may say if I may make a joke!

I share a strong passion for the fitness industry.  I want to share this with others and help them feel good about themselves.  I found my nitch and have the deepest passion to help others!!!  I love that I continue educating myself to make my classes grow!!!!
