My professional experience listed above and shows extensive qualifications for teaching multiple styles of yoga classes to varied populations. I am currently working as an E-RYT (over 2000 hours of teaching experience after full certification) and continue to pursue classes toward my 500 hr. RYT. My journey to yoga began as a high school social studies teacher. Teaching and sharing knowledge feeds my soul and enriches my life. I left teaching for a short while when I had my four children.
After four births my back sustained injuries and I was scheduled for surgery. At the age of 38, I was willing to do anything to avoid a back surgery. While researching my options, I came upon some studies by Duke University that confirmed yoga was as good as or better than surgery for many back injuries. I began taking yoga classes 6 days a week. My back pain disappeared. Following a suggestion from my husband I combined my love of teaching and my love of yoga by studying for two years to become an RYT!
The rewards of being an RYT are plentiful. Being able to have a positive impact on even one person in each class is a tremendous accomplishment. Whenever I substitute for classes and students come to me afterwards to ask where I teach, my heart soars because I know they received something beneficial and positive from my instruction.
Having an opportunity to reach out to subjects as they relax on vacation and to open their hearts, minds and bodies to the natural flow of yoga would be an especially rewarding experience.
I look forward to discussing this possibility with your staff in the future.
Regards,
KristyAnn M. Hirtzel, B.A., E-RYT 200
