Melinda Hennessey

https://www.yogaalliance.org/TeacherPublicProfile?tid=29760

Melinda Hennessey is a RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance.~~Melinda first started practicing in 2011 when her friend and fellow runner, Amy Friedman, invited her to class.  Her first class with Amy was on the roof top in Dhaka, Bangladesh.  Somehow Amy managed to center Melinda in from all of the busy and noisy Dhaka streets and she was hooked.  Melinda credits her love for the vinyasa style after practicing at Embrace Yoga under Katherine Huynh and Kate Rivard.  She was drawn to the strength, fun and creativity of vinyasa. Melinda's yoga journey has been a great transformation - physically mentally & spiritually. Yoga has changed her worldview and the way she walks through life. Melinda believes that yoga is about offering a little more kindness, striving to be less reactive in everything you do, letting go & letting your light shine. In 2012, she completed 200 hours of yoga teacher training with Yandara Yoga Institute in Bali, Indonesia under Allison Eaton and Craig Perkins.  Through continued practice, she continuously finds ways to slow down and connect with her inner guide.   Melinda's teaching style reflects her love of yoga and music. She treats her students to various themed playlists and asks her students to also have fun. Outside of yoga, Melinda is an avid long distance runner, a 2014 =PR= Age Group Race Team member and likes to spend time with her dog, Bella.
