Hannah Lemke

As a yogi, dancer, runner, biker, swimmer, nutrition-freak and health advocate, I live each day to the fullest by finding health and happiness and preventing the onset of disease through engagement of physical activity and fitness. I believe the benefits of movement and a physically active lifestyle are endless, ranging from weight loss to mood improvement to disease elimination. Throughout completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, I gained extensive knowledge in the field of exercise science both on an academic and practical level. Academically, I excelled through many clinical exercise physiology, human nutrition and motivational interviewing courses of which understanding patient and client health through appropriate assessment and designing respective exercise regimens were integral components. As Fit to Lead Coach with Queen’s School of Business, I worked one-on-one with various M.B.A. students to help them achieve personal fitness and health goals. I thoroughly enjoyed designing and implementing exercise routines specific to students with different needs and time constraints and also loved working to promote health and wellness among such a diverse group of individuals. My experiences at Queen's University forced me to discover my passions for health and wellness and have led me to pursue a lifestyle and career of which health promotion and disease prevention are integral components.

My experience teaching group fitness began at a young age of 16 as I taught various Aquafit classes for the Town of Orangeville. Upon moving to Kingston to pursue academia, I became a member of Queen’s Generations Committee; a committee dedicated to improving the physical, social, emotional and mental health of senior citizens through exercise and fitness. I also volunteered with Kingston’s S.M.A.R.T. program (Seniors Making Active Roles Together) where I guided seniors through safe and effective exercise programming. While pursuing a Master of Science degree at McGill University, I gained immense experience teaching group fitness classes as I led numerous spinning, boot-camp and body sculpting classes with excellent review and feedback. Recently, I have also graduated as a certified yoga teacher and have begun to share my love for yoga with fellow yogis in my community by guiding weekly practice at a local fitness centre.

With a bubbly personality and a deep passion for physical activity, fitness and health, I believe I would be an asset to your team and look forward to discussing this exciting opportunity with you! :)

Have a great day and namaste!
