My name is Sabrina Garland
I am 28 years old and have lived in three different countries.
I only speak English and can get by in Spanish, but would not say I speak spanish. I am looking to change that.
My yoga/ fitness journey started in High School in 2001. I was told it would help me with ADHD. I opted to replace PE with Iyengar Yoga. After two years of attending the Ann Arbor School of Yoga I realized that I needed the calm and focus that the physical practice brought in to my life. I continued to seek different styles of yoga after graduating High School. I began teacher training in 2009 after moving to San Diego, CA. from Michigan. Now, I enjoy teaching a variety of yoga styles. Every style that I teach has a core of alignment, breath and flow. I believe that any level of student should feel uplifted and empowered by practicing yoga. I work towards making yoga a benefit for everybody! I enjoy teaching because I love seeing the ongoing transformation in students and myself. I am always looking for growth, contribution and a chance to learn something new.
I found that in Sanskrit my last name meant mala or link, this is where the name Garland Yoga comes from. It is in the present connection we have with our environment that links the common thread of compassion to our practice and life. I love teaching yoga because of the many layers of connects. My favorite is yoga being the tool to link our bodies and minds to the soul and spirit of each moment.
I have been teaching yoga for 5 years, teaching sculpt for 2 years, teaching pilates for 1 year and spin for 4 months.
I love teaching group fitness but my passion is practicing and teaching yoga.
I also love to travel.
I have been teaching full time group fitness classes for a just over a year and a half.
I work as a freelace instructor or contractor in San Diego under my company name Garland Yoga but work for all of the companies I have listed.
