When illness forced my departure from competitive sports, my passion was redirected towards becoming an Athletic Trainer; I excelled clinically and academically in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Through my studies and work with athletes, I gained extensive practical knowledge in anatomy and physiology, injury prevention, and the management of a multitude of injuries and illnesses. I absorbed a variety of fitness philosophies along the way, including an advanced yoga practice. When I began applying my yoga practice to the athletic population, positive results and feedback were immediate, leading to the creation of Warrior Yoga Training, my own yoga company, training athletes in a unique yoga practice.  Warrior Yoga Training takes a progressive approach to injury prevention and performance enhancement by integrating sports medicine with yoga for athletes. WYT teaches you quality of movement, which will help you preserve the health of your muscles and joints, and allow you a longer, healthier athletic career.  WYT treats the mind and body as a single unit. The practice will enhance mobility, strength, and proprioception, as well as mental durability and focus.

 

My personal journey to wellness was long and difficult, and one that continues to require constant adjustment and awareness. I was a competitive athlete my entire life until chronic illness forced a premature departure from collegiate soccer.

Yoga allowed me to physically rebuild both my body and mind, creating a functional foundation that has allowed me to become stronger than ever before. I still train like an athlete, and use yoga to counteract the detrimental effects of lifting and sprinting. Yoga centers me, slows me down physically and mentally, allowing me to find balance in an often hectic lifestyle.  I want to pass on the incredible mental and physical benefits that yoga has allowed me to discover.  I am happy, healthy, and strong and enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences with others.
