Ellie Peterson

When I quit smoking, I turned to exercise to fill that void.  My body felt good moving and I could finally breathe with ease.  Because my mind rebelled to the changes I was trying to make, I started incorporating positive affirmations to help with my physical workouts.  Feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment in making healthy changes last, I knew that exercise would be an integral part of my life. 

My passion is helping individuals accept and love their entire selves.  For me, exercising goes beyond working the body.  It means training my mind to also be strong so my being feels free.   My current weekly routine consists of Meditative Movements: 3-4 cardio workouts, 2-3 flexibility and balance with strength training 1-2 days. When I was at the height of my teaching career, I taught 14 cardio classes a week and was training for a 26.2 mile marathon.  The cross training has afforded me a healthy body, even good knees 30 years later.   

My goal is to share with individuals how they can incorporate Meditative Movements into their daily life so they can be healthier, happier and feel whole.  People need to understand they can use movement throughout their day to relieve stress.  Reframing what exercise looks and feels like provides individuals a way to be successful in our busy world.  Being mindful while practicing extends to all areas of their life.
