Christina Perez-Martin has a deep strength and passion for life that is expressed through her teachings. Yoga quickly became Christina’s “Mommy me-time”, as she struggled to balance a family and a career working with at-risk youth. She believes that yoga is healing, a place where one can unlearn and relearn the way they choose to live in this world.
Christina is a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and Prenatal RYT and Doula. A yoga teacher since 2009, she will complete her 500 Hour RYT with Jennifer Prugh, by 2015. She has been a resource for schools and for non-profits creating and instructing kids/teen empowerment through yoga, teen intervention trainings, prenatal trainings, and is working to implement a Teen Motherhood Yoga program. She is an advocate for her community and hopes that one day mainstream yoga will one day reflect all diversities of race, age, economic class, size, and ability.
Christina teaches several genres of yoga, prenatal yoga, meditation, and trainings throughout Santa Clara County. Her teachings encompass soulful connections through movement and breath.
“If you want to grow, you have to do work. By listening and learning to let go, you will begin to heal. Yoga enables you to observe the self within; it is a journey of empowering your inner monologue so that you may completely love the person you are now.” ~ Christina Martin
