Julia Monosova

Julia Monosova was born and raised in Ukraine where she obtained her business degree and also trained as a dancer. She always felt that there was something more to this life, higher purpose. After moving to NYC and meeting her spiritual guru, she realized yoga was something that she was always looking for. It helped her to discover that everything she has been seeking her entire life has always been right inside of her. It gave her answers to so many questions.

With the guidance of her guru she developed a deep appreciation for the combination of personalized physical practice with a strong spiritual foundation. The experience with Yoga completely transformed her life, and she was inspired to dedicate herself to helping others by spreading the knowledge of yoga, and empowering and inspiring others by her own example.

Julia took her first Yoga Teacher Training with the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta organization and subsequently returned to complete Advanced Yoga Teacher Training.

Julia currently teaches yoga and healthy vegetarian cooking classes in NYC. She taught yoga at Sivananda Yoga Vedanta center in Los Angeles, where she also managed the center. She taught Hatha yoga for Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation in Ukraine. Julia spent a few months in India assisting a Yoga Teacher Training and learning Chi-Gong.  She was also featured at YogaXpress TV episodes. Her latest passion is Yin Yoga which she studied with Corina Benner in Philadelphia. Julia is also trained in "Kidding Around Yoga" and loves to share yoga with children.

Julia enjoys demystifying the yoga postures with personalized modifications so that students at all levels can grow in their practice. She emphasizes building strength, flexibility (of body and mind) and exploring the connection between breath and movement. She offers breathing exercises, a unique sequence of postures, deep relaxation and meditation.

Julia teaches group classes as well as individual sessions, which allow her to bring an added focus on nutrition and spiritual study. She offers health and wellness consultations, as an essential supplement to yoga practice. She also teaches vegetarian cooking workshops.

Julia also practices Vipassana meditation, which along with yoga allows her to live in harmony with nature and to accept reality as it is. She spends her free time doing all sorts of outdoor activities, taking dance classes, biking, travelling and learning new things.
