- Angela Abell
My name is Angela Abell and I currently reside in Richmond, VA. I am a full time graduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) where I am pursuing my master's degree in Exercise Science. I also work part time as an Exercise Physiologist for a research program at VCU called the T.E.E.N.S. (teaching encouragement exercise and nutrition through support). I work with a clinical team that provides fitness, nutrition, and behavior support for overweight teens age 11-18.
I began working in the fitness industry a little over three years ago as a Group Exercise Instructor for a local women's gym. I have always had a strong passion for health and fitness and becoming a fitness instructor has been one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever held. Being an instructor has lead me to pursue my graduate degree in Exercise Science; I was fortunate to find a way to blend my science background with my love for fitness.
Along with school and work I still find to time to teach fitness classes. I enjoy teaching step and hi/lo aerobics. I also teach strength training and exercise ball classes. I have recently begun teaching some Pilates and yoga formatted classes.
