I enjoy sharing my passions for yoga and water sports with others, regardless of their abilities. I emphasize making yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of their age, ability, or body size. Smaller classes are great because I can better tailor the class to the students' needs, though larger classes are fun for the energy they generate.
My most recent training specializes in the use of yoga as therapy. It is enjoyable for me to have students come to class with specific requests, such as "Let's do some core (ab) work!" "My low back is really sore" or "My wrists and elbows hurt." This allows me to modify poses to allow the student to get the most benefit from their own ability.
Typically I start my classes off slowly so I can gage the capability of my students. This allows me to make sure they get the safest, best workout. I am adept at creating props with limited resources.
I have also spent the past year teaching yoga on Stand Up Paddleboards. These classes are fabulous core builders and lots of fun where ever there is enough open water (or a large enough pool) for vigorous practice. Growing up on the water, I love to swim and participate in many water sports. I have taken innumerable Lifeguarding classes so I don't have to worry about my students' safety on the water. I also have a great deal of experience with kayaks, small sailboats and canoes.
