Paola Forschner

Paola Forschner was born in Colombia to a Colombian mother and Australian father, an international upbringing that shaped her global perspective and bilingual fluency in English and Spanish. Having lived in multiple countries—including Australia—Paola developed an early appreciation for diverse cultures, movement traditions, and mindful living.

Paola’s yoga journey began in childhood through dance and yoga classes, later deepening as she practiced along with renowned television yogi Lilias Folan. As a teenager, she discovered yoga as a powerful tool for focus and self-regulation; pranayama, meditation, and asana supported her concentration and helped her navigate academic challenges with greater ease and confidence.

In 1990, Paola relocated to Houston, Texas, where she built a successful career as a hairstylist. Long hours spent standing and working led her back to yoga, which quickly became essential to her physical well-being. Through consistent practice, she experienced increased mobility, improved posture, reduced fatigue, and relief from chronic back pain—benefits that reaffirmed yoga as a lifelong practice.

In 2001, Paola expanded her movement education through martial arts training, eventually earning her second-degree black belt. During this time, she also trained and taught kickboxing cardio and power yoga at Katy Tigers Tae Kwon Do. Inspired to deepen her understanding and share yoga more fully, Paola completed her yoga teacher certification in 2003 through the Temple of Kriya Yoga.

Paola has since taught yoga across a wide range of settings, including community centers, the YMCA (Monty Ballard) in Katy, Black Hawk Country Club, and corporate wellness programs. Since 2016, she has led weekly yoga classes for employees of Heavy Construction Systems Specialists, a Houston-based IT systems company. Her teaching style thoughtfully integrates multiple traditions and modalities, creating classes that are both accessible and transformative.

Designed to complement an active lifestyle, Roll & Restore is a guided recovery-focused experience emphasizing mobility, longevity, and mindful self-care. Using simple tools such as mats, rollers, tennis balls, straps, and body weight, Paola leads intentional bodywork to release muscular tension, hydrate fascia, stimulate circulation, and restore range of motion. Guests can expect deep relaxation, improved posture, enhanced recovery, and a renewed sense of physical and mental ease—making this class an ideal complement to any fitness routine.

Paola’s yoga classes are thoughtfully designed to cultivate strength, balance, flexibility, and focus—essential qualities for both daily life and athletic performance. Through guided breathwork, mindful movement, and intelligently sequenced postures, students experience a dynamic, full-body practice that supports mobility, stability, and endurance. Regular practice promotes stress reduction, improved circulation, mental clarity, and long-term resilience. Paola welcomes practitioners of all levels, meeting each guest where they are while encouraging personal exploration and growth.

Over the years, yoga has gifted Paola meaningful connections with teachers, students, and fellow practitioners from all walks of life. She is grateful to have studied with respected yogis including Doug Swenson, Bryan Kest, Manju Jois, Robert Boustany, Ana Forrest, and Christina Sell—each influencing her teaching through their unique perspectives. Paola’s intention is to inspire her students with the same authenticity, dedication, and passion that her mentors have shared with her. Her love for yoga and commitment to sharing its benefits are evident in every class she teaches.
